Jake on the way home from getting stitches.  Posted by Picasa

February 26th, 2006

Hello. We had quite the exciting Sunday. After today, I prefer non-exciting Sundays. Jake got 2 stictches in his chin this morning. In our shower, we have a bench. He had both hands on the bench, and was jumping. His hands slipped and his chin came down on the bench. He screamed, and I didn't see any blood, so I thought he was okay. Then I saw some dripping a little, and when I got him out of the shower, I knew immediately it would need stitches. It was no scratch, it was like he had a scalpal to the chin. I called a friend in the ward to come and stay with Kyle and Kristin (of course Jake has to do this when Troy is gone!) and we were off. For a deep cut, it hardly bled! On the way to the Urgent Care, I asked Jake to hold a tissue against his chin. When I got him out at the Urgent Care, he was holding the tissue to his cheek. It was funny. He never could figure out where he was cut in order to hold a tissue to it. After we got in, the nurse took one look and set us up in the suture room. He did awesome. Cried a little during the shot to numb everything, but then held still the rest of the time. Me, on the other hand, almost passed out. (The reason why: once they had it numb, they scrubbed the cut hard with a sponge...ew!!!!) He ended up with 2 stitches. We always figured Jake would be our first kid with stitches or a broken limb. But we also thought it would be because he was climbing and being a naughty monkey. We came home, took a nap, and went to church. It's 8:00 and all is well. Kids all asleep. Garbage out! ( I HATE THAT JOB.) Now I have to stay up as long as possible and enjoy the solitude. I encourage any callers after 8:30pm any night! I'm going to try to include pictures, but not sure if I know how...we'll see...

Sorry it's been awhile, I've been trying to get the website up and running, so I've been preoccupied. Kyle just said a funny comment to me:

Mom, do you really think that what you do today affects your tomorrow?

HOW OLD IS HE? Funny kid. Well, I have 2 weeks left of my sentencing(Troy being out of town.) We are all still alive. Netflix has been keeping us sane! Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Okay, Jake's first naughty act of the day...
I was giving Kristin a breathing treatment, I heard Jake playing around the dryer...didn't think much of it, what could he possibly have gotten into? Well, I went up a little later, and noticed something that looked like lotion on a pair of jeans that Jake had taken out of the dryer and thrown on the ground. I stuck my finger in it, smelled it, and realized...IT WAS BLEACH! From a clorox bleach pen. I asked Jake (fairly calmly) what he put it on. He told me he put it on a black shirt that was dirty and that he then put it in the washer. I pulled out what was once a Navy Blue Mariner's T-Shirt into a bleached polka-dotted one. Luckily, as of now, that is all l have found it on. Oh well, at least it wasn't a Yankee shirt! :)

Okay, another favorite game of the kids:
Name: The dark game
You turn off all the lights and walk around. When you run into somebody, you say "excuse me" and then you keep walking all around and bumping into more people. Kristin even plays it correctly.
Kyle thought this game was so good, that he made me send it into ZOOM (a pbs show for kids). As of yet, we haven't seen his game on ZOOM! :)

60 hours down, only 452 more to go. Countdown until Troys homecoming. I honestly don't know if I'm going to make it. I can't believe it's only been 60 hours. I try to plan things every day, but it's just not enough. I would love to fly to Texas! STUPID INTEL! Oh well, endure to the end, right? Why can't it be summer when the kids could play outside? It even snowed here a little yesterday. (of course nothing stuck) Oh well, just complaining a bit...I'll be in better spirits after bedtime...

Hey. Well, we've had an exciting weekend. Troy got up early this morning and drove himself to the Max Station. He made it to Dallas and is happy to learn that the hotel has a raquectball court. The other he and the other 3 guys he is there with are excited to play! Allisun and Donnarae and their friends Ashley and John came to visit. They took the boys to the beach today while Kristin and I took a nap. I was really excited to just take Kristin to church today, but we accidentally slept through it. The boys had a blast at the beach. Hopefully they were good. We need to do that more often, but it's a long drive to get there and find out the weather is crappy. All the kids are now asleep...in my bed! Not so excited about tonight...

February 16th, 2006

Well, not much happening today. I took the kids to the zoo. They loved it. It was Kristin's first time at the zoo. It was so great! She loved everything and was amazed by everything. I bought a "zoo pass". While Troy is gone the next few weeks, I'll be able to take them there. We spent about an hour there, and it was perfect! A little cold, but nice to be out of the house. A funny story...
I left Troy home with the kids yesterday while I went to the post office (a normal occurrence). As I was turning the corner, I saw Jake standing on the top of Troy's car (not the hood, the top of the car) surfing. He was a moving his hips, and if you didn't know better, you would have thought he was riding a wave...I just assumed Troy knew what he was up to, but he didn't. Troy thought he was at Amy's (our next door neighbors). Jake was suppossed to be at Amy's, but saw a detour. Crazy kid...
Well, better sign off. The kids are refusing to eat dinner. They would rather have ramen...aughhh.....they'll just have to starve tonight (to death, I am told...)

Our kids have a new favorite game:
pinchyhittyflattycuttycow
It keeps them happy for hours! Jake and Kristin "cheat" according to Kyle, but they think it's fun anyways!

Hello. Sorry it's been such a long time since the last post. I went to Las Vegas for a CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) convention. It was insane. Fun, huge and overwhelming. We were invited to a VIP party for Making Memories. Erin and I doubled our inventory(at least). Our website should be re-vamped in the next few days. There should be a link to it on this blog somewhere. Refer any scrapbookers you know. :) Troy did okay with the kids while I was gone. That's good for me! I missed them and was happy to be home, but it was nice to get away for a bit. I think it makes us all appreciate what we have!

I have one week left of Troy being home. He is heading to Dallas for work for 3 weeks! He better live it up and go out for good dinners on Intel! I am thinking about cruising down to my folks house for awhile, but I'm worried about all the work I will have to come home to, and no Troy to help me with the kids while I have to work. If anyone would like to visit me, I would LOVE it! :)

Kyle is doing good. He detests school work. His teacher called and told us his fine motor skills need fine tuning. We try with that kid, but he hates coloring and writing! Any ideas?

Jake is loving preschool. I think he loves having something that is his. He doesn't have to share, and it's his preschool. We can't drive by without Kristin hollering, "that Jakey's preschool".

Yep, Kristin is a talker. She will talk your ear off. She also likes to sing. Last Sunday she was holding a hymn book during the closing hymn belting out a tune...we didn't know what she was singing, but it was sure cute! She's bossy too, but so dang cute! Gotta love girls! Can you believe she's almost 2? Crazy.

Well, that's all that's happening here with us. More later...
