Father and Sons Campout

Last Friday night was our wards Father and Sons Campout. It was for men of all ages! I was so excited for Troy to take the boys (why they do it in October, I have no idea...I know it would be way to humid in the summer, but why not September?) because our ward in Oregon never had one of these (at least not for anyone other than Young Men age). The boys were so excited to go. Our friends, the Elmer's, let us borrow a tent. As the day kept getting closer, the weather kept getting worse. It was nice and sunny outside, but was forecasted to be one of the coldest days this year. It was. The low that night was 30 degrees. Since we have no camping equipment, Troy just took all of the comforters off all the beds here. He said it was no good. They all froze all night. (I told him if I took the kids, we would have ended up in a hotel instead of camping.) They came home early the next morning. He said the food they had planned (the ward) was horrible, so after Kyle's soccer game on Saturday morning, we went to IHOP, where I had seen commercials for their cream cheese french toast. It was heavenly. It was a pregnancy craving thing...it was way good, I highly recommend it...cheap too. Troy is such a good dad! Troy was not excited to go to the campout and have to be social with our ward (just don't know people very well, and Troy's social skills aren't the greatest if you don't know him and his personality), but he took a day off work and took the kids anyways. He said that he needs to plan a Father's and Son's Campout with his family when we're in Utah(next summer)...he thought that was a great idea...so Korth Family men...be prepared (you know I will be planning it...) Before Troy left, I begged him to take the camera and take a few pictures...I even reminded Kyle to remind Troy...Troy did his best and tried, but it was too dark, and a lot of the pics turned out blurry...here's what we got...

How fun! I bet Kyle and Jake had the best time ever.

It's so cute at night when your camping and the kids are roasting mallows' and chowing down smores, but you can't ever catch a decent picture because it's too dark. Way to go outside the comfort zone Troy, that's the true love of a father. Those cream cheese things sound delicious. Glad you're still pregnant Jen!
