Visitors...

Hey! We have had visitor's this week! Troy's parents had their 40th wedding anniversary this year, and traveled back East to celebrate. They spent a few days in Vermont and New York, and then came down to visit us. They got here on Saturday, and we ate lunch, went to Kyle's soccer game, and then headed to Delilas' home (Doug's baby sister) to visit and for dinner. It was a lot of fun. It was a busy crazy day, but was nice to visit with everyone. Troy had to work Saturday night, so we didn't see him much. On Sunday, we watched conference and then went to Delilas' for a weeny roast over a campfire in her backyard.

I didn't really enjoy the campfire so much, only because watching my kids around fire makes me crazy! It stresses me out like you wouldn't believe! I just imagine horrible burns...anyways...they had a good time, oblivious to any danger that may be lurking...
Kyle has early days on Monday, so we decided to head to the coast after school, take him out for the next day (Tuesday) and we went and stayed the night in Ocean City, MD. We got there about 6 on Monday night, and went to a seafood buffet. Troy and I aren't really seafood fans. (Well, Troy is if it's fried, but is that really seafood?) They had good Prime Rib and other things though. It was fun. We got up this morning, went to breakfast, and then headed to the boardwalk. The kids couldn't wait to play on the beach, so we took their shirts off(even Kristin), and let them play in the sand while Troy's parents walked the boardwalk. The kids had an absolute blast! Troy had bought them each a shovel and pail, and they were in heaven. Kyle was running out in the water, and tripped. It was so funny, Troy and I were laughing our heads off! Kyle turned around, worried we would be mad since he wasn't in his bathing suit, but relaxed when he saw us laughing. It was a gorgeous day at the beach. I bet it was 80 degrees, and sunny, with a tiny breeze, making it bareable to sit in the sun and watch the kids. We had to go check out of the hotel, so we pulled the kids away from the boardwalk, checked out, and then let them play a little longer at the beach. Troy put his swimsuit on and played with the kids. Troy got in the water and was body surfing, having a blast. I was on the beach with Kristin, who was now all of a sudden saying"I dont' want to get sandy, Mommy" over and over again. (It was getting to be naptime!) The boys had a blast in the water, while I was trying to keep Kristin happy!
We found this odd thing in the ocean. I think it was dead, but Kyle saw it and told us it was what killed the Crocodile Hunter, so we took a picture of it. It was large, probably the size of a large cantaloupe. We don't know what kind of sea-life it was...if you know, let us know!
Okay, for those of you who know me well, know I couldn't pass up a beach trip without a photo shoot. I loved how the pics turned out...I have already uploaded them to Costco.com photocenter (my favorite) and I am picking them up tomorrow. I set up the camera, posed the family, and Troy's mom took pics of our family. (Later on Doug told me with what I had written about other's taking our picture on the blog, he wouldn't have touched my camera with a 10 foot pole!) Anyways, here are a few of the pics... I love this picture of our family. I told Troy he's just as bad as the kids. Instead of just letting his parents get the kids to look and smile, he was, and he now has the only goofy looking smile in the picture...Troy told me that what you see is his happy face, and to get over it...hmmm...that doesn't sound like Troy! :)

Kyle took this picture of Troy and me. We weren't sure if he was going to get us in it or not...he did good (good thing, or I would have called him names on my blog...(sarcasm...sarcasm...)

Here's the happy couple! 40 years! Crazy, next month, Troy and I will be at 9 years working on eternity! Congratulations Doug and LeeAnn! Thanks for a great trip to the beach!

Okay, after 3 hours driving in the car, my ankles are currently the size of watermelons...better get to bed and hope they go back to normal by morning...the joys of pregnancy! :)

Looks like fun. There is no such thing as bad pictures of kids playing in the sand. So cute. How much longer do you have?? I have one month left. Yahooooo!!! Good luck to you with your swelling. I'll be working on my heartburn.

I think that "unknown creature" is a jellyfish. I could be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me! Sounds like fun. Don't you love being able to go to the beach and not having to put coats and hats on--even in the summer! Pictures turned out great--even Kyle's!!

Beach days are just the greatest, and the pictures are cute! I'm so jealous of your east coast adventures. Maybe for my 40th anniversary we'll make it out there. Congrats on making it through the 7 year itch.

Hi Jen, Your kids are getting so big. Kristin is a big girl now. You look great for being 7 months pregnant too. I heard from Sarah that you found a great rocking chair for shorties...very interesting. I wish the beaches were warm here. That must be fun.
