Spring Break

We got home from Europe just in time for our Kids Spring Break. We wanted to make sure we were home so that we could do family things while they were out of school. Troy continued to take the week off. The first thing we did our kids have been dying to do for awhile...that is going to Airborne. It's a trampoline place where they play dodgeball and jump. They loved it!

Then we - of course - had to do the Easter Festivities. We went to Copperton as usual for the Easter Egg Hunt.
. This year we also decided to do something a bit different. We did our own Egg hunt for our kids in the backyard. We got candy we actually like, and 100 eggs. Troy and I hid them and then each kid got to find 25. It was awesome. We hid some pretty hard - and the kids kept coming and asking for hints. We amazingly found all 100. I get so sick of the egg hunts that aren't 'hunts'. That's the whole point!
On Easter Sunday the kids put on their best duds and we went to church.
Afterwards we took a big extended family photo with the Korths,
(we are still missing a brother and his family - 7 people total) but with Jon and Donnarae in town - we went ahead with the photo. We ate dinner and did an egg hunt with the extended Peterson side. I missed my brothers and their families. Wish they weren't so far away.

Home again, home again...

Sigh...why am I grouchy when I come home from vacation? Maybe the fact that it's freezing and supposed to snow tonight? We got off the plane, and then were completely out of control busy every second for the next 3 days. I guess spring break and Easter will do that to you. Life is back to normal...I realized that as my alarm was going off at 5:20 this morning. Ughhh...well, like I said, our weekend was crazy. We had a new niece born and I got to take photos of the birth. It was amazing. We had a birthday party for Kinlee (niece) at a pool, where Kyle discovered poo in pool by stepping in it. We did Easter Egg hunts, Easter dinner's, church, Rio! at the movies, my hair done, and 2 sleepovers. PHEW! I didn't have time to buy the girls Easter dresses, but I had picked up some dresses for them in Hawaii and they did just fine! Troy dyed eggs with the kids while I recuperated from the crazy few days. They were so excited for the face stickers for their eggs - well, the girls were. The boys were just too excited to eat their eggs.

Easter Saturday

We decided to do Easter a bit differently this year. We decided that the Easter Bunny would come on Friday night instead of Saturday night. I can't tell you how great this was! The kids had no clue that we changed the date and time. It made this morning (Sunday) SO much better! Our church is at 9:00 - and between Troy and I both having to get the kids ready and make sure our lessons are ready Sunday morning - less is definitely more for us! It was nice doing the Bunny/Egg thing on Saturday - and focusing more on Christ/Atonement/Resurrection on Sunday. Troy and I both agree...this is the only way to go! We always go to the Copperton Easter Egg hunt. My parents weren't able to meet us this year because they were helping someone move...boy, did the kids love it. My complaint - about all egg hunts - is that now they are no longer an egg hunt. It's more like a "how fast can you scoop things off the ground" hunt... I remember actually having to FIND eggs. Nope. Not anymore. After the Copperton Egg Hunt - we went to the Herriman Egg Hunt. They had rectangles roped off with age groups for all the kids up to age 12. In each taped off rectangle, they just threw candy, pudding and stuffed animals, a few eggs, they said go, and it was all over in 2 seconds. It was great cause it was cold...but that's not any fun. Our Sunday plans changed last minute, and we went to my parents for an Easter Dinner, and my mom threw together a REAL egg hunt for the kids. (pics to come tomorrow) I love it, cause she color coordinates the eggs. The little girls could pick up any pink, orange, or yellow eggs, and the boys got blue, green, and purple. That way Kyle doesn't snatch them all up and the difficulty level for actually finding the eggs works out great! The ones with money inside, my mom wrote the kids names on the outside of the egg. Perfect! No arguing over who got more eggs, or more money...it was perfect!

(Hmmm...don't know why there's not a picture of Kristin...) My friend, Carrie, and her kids Hannah and Calum met us at the Copperton Egg Hunt. Hannah wanted NOTHING to do with me taking her picture!

Hope you all had a super duper EasterSaturday!
