Well, the schools thought it would be a great idea to get my kids all kinds of excited about St. Patrick's Day. Kristin wanted to be the best dressed to win a prize, Jake wanted to make a leprechaun trap, Haley had to take the snack in to preschool that day, and Kyle just wanted to pinch people. So, I bought a $3 necklace for Kristin at Walmart, and found a green polkadot pettiskirt that I have had for awhile in my closet, and stuck in some cute braids with green ribbon. Good luck winning that contest, I thought. The kids remembered that we still had face paint from Halloween, so they begged to paint a shamrock on their cheeks. I did my best with fat little face painting crayons and drew the line when Jake wanted a leprechaun on his cheek. For Haley, I made shamrock shaped rice krispie treats, and rainbow cupcakes. They turned out so cute! And they were super yummy! I will probably never make rainbow cupcakes again. They took forever, and when I was halfway finished, flashbacks of Valentine's Day came back to me, and I wondered why on earth I even tried this! But - Haley was super excited - and Kristin even won best dressed in her class!(The prize was a laffy taffy...if I would have known that I would have bought her 10 not to have to deal with it all) Good times in the Korth household.
