Family Day...

We had the best family day yesterday. We went to a farm that had pumpkins (among other things) and spent the whole day! It was awesome. It was called Great Country Farms in Bluemont, VA. It really was incredible. We watched some pig races first. The kids were fascinated!
They even had 2 baby goats race around. It was cute. Then, the boys spotted this huge slide. They were so cute. Troy said that at the top of the slide, they worked so hard to wrap Kyle's legs around Jake, but everytime they came down, they had somehow gotten seperated! They giggled the whole way down! Troy took Kristin down a few times too! She liked it a lot more than I thought she would!

Okay, then they had this AWESOME "jumping pumpkin". Check out the website...I think Bear Lake might need one! :) http://www.jumpingpillows.com/jumping.asp I don't know how to describe it. It was a glorified trampoline, but SAFE! (If you can have over 30 kids and adults jumping their hardest on something, with pretty much no chance of injury, it's got to be safe.) Troy wants one for our backyard. It's my job to find a smaller one online...like I have time to do that! :) It was surrounded by sand. It was cool! Wish I could have jumped...but after what I learned at my doc appt today, it's probably a good thing I didn't get on!

The next thing we did, was head for the rope swings. I loved watching Kyle and Jake. They were the best buds all day long! Kyle was helping Jake on the swing, and Jake would help push Kyle. It was so cute!

Then the kids went on a "cow ride". The pictures will explain it...

Then, the sadness happened. The only sad thing of the day...Kristin got stung by a bee. Right between her eye and the bridge of her nose. She was so sad, she screamed for at least 20 minutes. We were waiting in line for the hayride to the pumpkin patch, and Kristin was standing in the middle of some flowers, and she got stung. Her eye has gotten worse as the hours have gone by...here's what she looked like. She had fallen asleep in my arms, so the picture is close up.
When she woke up, she begged to ride the cows again. Instead, we headed for home! It was a great time though! Kristin even says how much fun she had, except when the "bug got me".

That jumping thing looks so fun! I need to find one of those here! Fun slides too. Don't you just love it when your kids get along so well...that's like my dream come true!!

Aaron totally wants a jumping pillow. Too bad the cheapest one costs 12,000 dollars in all--including installation. He says we need to write our govenor and say we'll keep voting for him if he'll build us one in a park...or even better, talk the church into building one in the field behind the new building!!

crazy! we couldn't figure out how much they were...actually, I didn't look too hard. That is sad that they're so expensive, they were AWESOME!

Super fun day! The jumping pillow is awesome. Give them a year or two and they'll be on the market. Fun times on the farm. We had a similar experience when we lived there in Tualatin with the animals and such. We were just reminiscing about it the other day. We can't see to find one like it here in SF, hmmmm.
